The 77th season kicks off at the Zarzuela Hippodrome in Madrid on March 4 and will continue till the 2nd of December 2018, with a special closing race held on December 22. The Zarzuela Hippodrome in Madrid has presented its 2018 season this month, with a multitude of news and initiatives that aim to strengthen and expand the quality sports and leisure offer in the city. There will be 41 days in total, with 229 races held and 3,567,400 € distributed in prizes, which is an important boost for the industry surrounding the Pure English Horse Blood in Spain, betting once again for the National Breeding and increasing the bonuses in the Made In Spain Program awards.
All the spring and autumn races at the Zarzuela Hippodrome in Madrid will be held on Sunday mornings (the first race will begin on 11:30 am), while during the summer season will return with "the Nights on the Hippodrome" every Thursday from July 5 to 6 September from 10:15pm. There will be a total of 10 summertime events divided into 2 different cycles, the first with 5 days of 5 races supporting the national bets of LAE; and the second, which will start on August 9, will consist of another 5 days with 3 races each, with smaller prizes outside the LAE betting circuit, aimed at riders with less opportunities to ride and even amateurs!
During each season there are a series of races at the Zarzuela Hippodrome in Madrid that bring together the best professionals of the sector. There are 2 annual appointments that nobody wants to miss! One of them is the Madrid Grand Prix, the reign that all the riders want to win. The prize for the first place is 60,000 €, this year it will be held on Sunday, July 1. The other great event of the year is the Day of the Champions on October 21., which brings together 2 Grand Prizes in a single day: the Grand Criterium and the Duke of Toledo Memorial.
