This year’s best images, captured by photographers from around the world, as always become the display for the World Press Photo 2019. The 134 winning photos were chosen from 78,801 images that entered for the competition, taken by 4,738 international photographers. The exhibition of the winning photographs, which has started its world tour in Amsterdam, will travel in the course of the year to over 100 cities in 45 countries all around the world, reaching a global audience of over 4 million visitors!
For the second year running, the jury has nominated 6 photos for the World Press Photo 2019 award as Photograph of the Year, 3 projects for the New World Press Photo 2019 Story of the Year, and 6 nominations for audio-visuals contending for the World Press Photo 2019 Interactive Project of the Year and the World Press Photo 2019 Online Video of the Year. The display offers the option of commented visits and other parallel activities, such as the screening of the winners of the Digital Storytelling Contest, open to the public in the auditorium at the CCCB.
