The Mutua Madrid Open Tennis Tournament started last week on Friday, May 5, with the previous qualifying round for female players and for men players on Saturday. The prestigious ATP World Tour Masters 1000 and WTA Premier Mandatory of the WTA will be extended until Sunday, May 14, the day of the male individual final. The Mutua Madrid Open, directed by the legendary Manolo Santana, is held between May 5 and 14 in the tennis complex of the Caja Mágica of Madrid.
On each of the tournament’s 9 days, thousands of people are enjoying the best tennis in the world. It is an unmissable event for all lovers of the sport, who come from countries around the world to enjoy the tennis and experience some unforgettable moments. The Caja Mágica boasts 3 courts with retractable roofs, with capacities of 12,500 in the largest, and 3,500 and 2,500 in the other two. The Mutua Madrid Open also has four outdoor competition courts in the Tennis Garden and 10 other training courts, to which spectators have access. Fans not only enjoy watching the best tennis players, there is also a spectacular range of entertainment at the Caja Mágica, where they can enjoy numerous activities aimed at the whole family.
There are 28 male players and 32 female players at the Mutua Madrid Open. The men´s singles are made up of 56 players. The competition will start every day at 12:00h. There will also be afternoon session from 20:00h. The schedule will be continued without interruptions in the rest the courts. The Final Competition for women will be held on Saturday 13th and on Sunday 14th for men. The doubles for women will be also held on Saturday, and the doubles for men on Sunday. The fun starts in the morning and continues throughout the day and does not end until late at night. Starting from 8 in the evening, music can be heard from the concerts. At the end of each day, various groups liven up the stage in what has become another of the tournament’s biggest attractions.
